Description
Petroleum jelly can be applied on a piece of toilet paper for wiping the anus after a bowel movement. The lubricant can help heal an inflamed or irritated area and make the bowel movement hurt less.
Instruction
Place a small amount of petroleum jelly on a piece of toilet paper before wiping after a bowel movement. After you’re finished, you might want to sit on a firm surface for anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute to help reduce or pop your protruding hemorrhoids back into place.
Side Effects
There do not tend to be side effects with petroleum jelly but if burning, stinging, redness, or irritation does occur, you should talk to your physician immediately.
